

Configuring Windows Live Mail
The Details and Names in the boxes on the screen shots are example ones only, you will need to substitute these for the ones you have been given for your account
It may be an idea to print out the details of your email account as you then have then to hand during this setup
Open Windows Live Mail.
You will be prompted to create a email account: If not click the Add Email Account on the left side as indicated in the box below

Next you can fill out your Account Settings:

Email address: Your full email address
Password: Your password sent to you with your email account details
Remember password box should be checked
Your Name: Your full name (This is what people will see when they get an email from you )
Manually configure server settings for email account should be checked

My incoming mail server is a POP3 server.
Incoming server: This is as sent to your with your account details
Port: 110
This server requires a secure connection (SSL) should be unchecked.
Log on using: Clear text authentication
Login ID: Your full email address
Outgoing Server: This is as sent to your with your account details
Port: 25
This server requires a secure connection (SSL) should be unchecked.
Please check My outgoing server requires authentication.
Click Next

Click Finish
You have now successfully set up your email account
You will now have you email account listed in the menu on the left hand side as the picture below (our email is listed as Test Email)

Your email will automatically be checked when you open windows live mail, while the program is left open it will check your email every 30 minutes automatically for you
You can manually check you email by clicking the sync in the top menu bar
You can change how often windows mail live checks you email by changing the settings as detailed below

Click the tools menu as indicated by the red arrow, you will then get a menu, choose options that will then open the screen as in the picture below

Change the time as shown by the red arrow ( we recommend 10 minutes) setting this to check email for a shorter period may make your computer run slower as it will always be checking for email
Click Apply
Click OK
The box will disappear and you are done
